Well, all right . . . just this once!

as a baby boomer making the best of every day, i have a casual list of things i want to do before i, well .
we all know about the promises made, and, gee whiz, i want to be a good and faithful boy.
but i'm beginning to wonder if i should buy a few more baskets to put my eggs in.

Well, thanks, Glander!
Shall I arrange to have the obit sent you?!?!?!?!?
Actually, I'm more of a sedate kind of guy, but am open to the new and the adventurous!
Take care, mon ami.
How do you know that I have two hands?
CoCo n'en a pas peur
i was raised a jw and as a kid my family made brief mention of apostates in bethel that falsely prophecied about 1975 and were kicked out of bethel.
i was shocked after i got out and learned that him being removed had absolutely nothing to do with 1975. i think that partial lie spread is what kept my relatives in.
1975 a big let down/false prophecy, then they are told that a governing body member and many in bethel are found apostate and cleaned out, etc.
In reality it was Ray's brother Fred under the tutelage of Nathan Knorr who created for a second time this 6000 years of man's existence doctrine.
Hi, Finklestein:
Uncle Fred
under the tutelage . . . According to Edmund Gruss' interviewees in THE FOUR PRESIDENTS, Knorr was no scholar and had given FWF carte blanche on matters of doctrine, but was furious with Franz for the embarrassment he caused the Society over 1975 -- not public knowledge, I'm sure.
I will try to get back with verification of the above once I locate the book.
Thanks.

Thank you, BOC, Dagney and Ding, for your welcome observations!
As already mentioned, I'm having no problems personally with moving ahead. The perjorative phrase, "deplorable lack of faith," was used at an assembly, I believe, to castigate older JWs who were having second thoughts about what they had sacrificed . . . and for what?
Thanks again.
CoCo -- non, je ne regrette rien. . . .

Thanks, Friends, for all the great replies!
I'm doing what I want and am grateful to be able to do so after some health scares.
You're adorable, Hortensia, and no kicking the bucket yet, Grace!!!
This thread was intended as somewhat tongue-in-cheek; every deviation from prescribed JW thinking and action is, naturally, verboten. Just like the sister who gave up her beloved and profitable daycare business because she 'loved it too much.'

Good morning, LoisLane, Black Sheep and tornapart!
I enjoyed your replies -- thanks much and may you, too, continue enjoying life and, if need be, invent new things to do (no jumping off bridges!).
Love,

Yeah, I'm a guy and did see The Bucket List. Those words are truer and truer as time marches on and the body gives out. I was born in the 40s.
Take care!

Good and encouraging thoughts, rip and scully! Thanks so much. Yes, eggs are yummy -- what's not to love?
As a dear friend reminded me, it's never too late to be what you might have been. (George Eliot)

Thanks, dear friend, LaVerite!
In spite of it all, I'm always glad, like Pollyanna.
Love to you and the children.

I'm afraid that I've put all my begs in one ask it. . . .
Thoughts?!?!?!?
